Open for Making

We are the University of Edinburgh’s Community Makerspace.
We offer equipment, advice, training, and support to help you make (almost) anything.

uCreate Studio update on COVID-19 (17/3/20)

The University of Edinburgh has been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and liaising with government and NHS agencies to get their latest advice on public health guidance. Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our members, guests, visitors and staff. In light of this we have made the decision to close the Makerspace until further notice.

For the time being, all equipment has been taken off line and the doors have been locked. Completed prints will be available for collection at the Main Library Reception and rest assured as soon as we're back we will reprint all prints cancelled on closing as a priority.

We will continue to update on our website and social media channels as appropriate. In the meantime, we're working on various tools, resources and online sessions so you can keep making and building skills from home. We'll let you know when these are ready to go and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

  • Please continue to practise good respiratory hygiene and wash your hands more often. Find out more.
  • Please follow government advice on travel and self-isolation. Find out more.
  • More advice and support is available on the University website
