What is vinyl cutting?

Paragraph

Vinyl cutting is a process where a computer-controlled cutter precisely cuts designs into self-adhesive vinyl sheets.

These designs can then be applied to various surfaces, like walls, windows, or fabric, making it a versatile method for creating labels, decals, and other graphics.

A computer-controlled blade moves across the vinyl, cutting along the paths of a designed image, similar to how a printer works with ink.

The vinyl cutter at uCreate is the Graphtec CE7000 Cutting Plotter and runs from Graphtec Studio.

How do I produce vinyl stickers with multiple colours?

Paragraph

To create vinyl stickers with multiple colours, you'll need to cut each colour separately and then layer them on top of each other, ensuring proper alignment.

  1. Prepare your design by isolating each colour and creating different layers for each.
  2. Cut each colour out separately.
  3. Weed out the excess vinyl from each layer.
  4. Apply transfer tape to each layer and carefully peel off the vinyl to reveal the design. Position each layer on top of the previous one, ensuring perfect alignment.
  5. You now have a vinyl sticker made up of multiple layers of different colours.
